I make blades covered in stainless mesh.
Переглядів 286 тис.Місяць тому
The blade is made using the San Mai technique and is lined with very fine stainless mesh. Layers from the center, permoloy (iron alloy 50% nickel 50%), mild steel, stainless mesh, titanium (separator), consumable steel. More work with such a grid can be seen in the video at the link. ua-cam.com/video/vaw2X7pHGQU/v-deo.htmlsi=3nao_IHhdBjPYOz6 Thank you all for your support in the comments. Today...
Damascus steel technology using copper piano strings.
Переглядів 1,1 млн2 місяці тому
The video uses both the San Mai blade structure and the Mokume Gane technique and Damascus steel technology, and I don’t know what to correctly call this mixture of technologies. The porous copper in the photographs of the blade is powder steel impregnated with copper, the physics of the process is not completely clear to me, pure powder steel was poured into the container. The strings consist ...

Extraterrestrial blade. First time on the planet.
Переглядів 599 тис.7 місяців тому
The technology has not been used on the planet before. Since this is the first copy of this technology, there was a big difficulty in that you get what you imagine, and not what you see. Another peculiarity is that the blade is almost completely without metalworking. The idea is to remove excess metal chemically in a solution of 10% nitric acid. Tanto-style blades, from a 30mm APC cannon. In the center of the roller from the bearing. The steel is heat-resistant, so it is very difficult to forge. I always say the same thing, what if you spend some of the effort you put into making a knife from a pickaxe, a shovel, a hoe, a needle, or a doorknob, on the model and brand new design of the knife? The knife model made of stone or bone fragments of the first people is still the same

This knife is absolutely beautiful, but how durable is it? Is it just meant to be an art piece, or is it tough enough for actual use? Could it withstand some moderate abuse, say in a bushcraft scenario, or would the copper and steel start to delaminate, eventually causing the blade to fail?
